The short version
Dimin is a desktop compression app for macOS. It has no account, no telemetry, and no server of its own. Files are compressed locally on your Mac and are never uploaded anywhere.
What Dimin does with your files
The files you compress are read on your Mac, processed locally, and written back out next to the originals or to a folder you choose. Dimin does not copy them to any other location or send them anywhere.
Watching a folder needs permission to read that folder. macOS asks you to grant access, and you can revoke it any time in System Settings. Without that permission Dimin simply does not see the folder.
The network
Compression itself makes no network calls and works fully offline. The only network use is checking for updates when you ask, and a support link for feedback — both go to places you choose to open.
Dimin has no servers and collects nothing about what you compress.
Updates
Dimin checks for updates when you ask it to. That request is a normal network call to GitHub Releases, which applies its own privacy policy.
This website
This site is a static website. It runs no analytics scripts and sets no tracking cookies. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which may keep standard access logs (such as IP addresses) as part of its hosting service.
Where this page comes from
This is a plain-language description of how Dimin behaves; the behavior it describes ships with the app. The application code is licensed under the GPL-3.0. If a release ever changes how files are handled, the change ships with that release and is noted in the changelog.
